Shop Til You Drop (RED)

UnBeige, the design blog, has been following the fuss over AdAge’s pilloring of (RED), the do-good hardgoods campaign. Dreamed up by Bono, chaired by Kennedy spawn Bobby Shriver and shilled for by Steven Spielberg, Christy Turlington, Oprah and Chris Rock, (RED) spent something like $100 mil. on marketing to make $18 mil. back.
CEO Shriver wrote to correct Mya Frazer’s piece. Then, laughingly-named The Independent did their own investigation, and surprise, surprise! (RED) is absolutely fabulous! FBNY helpfully points out that Bono guest-edited the paper last year.
FBLA loves it when celebrities write big checks. Why don’t all concerned do that little thing and quit trying to part the rest of us from our take-home pay?
