PR Firm Sitrick and Company Lands Another Veteran Journalist

LA public relations behemoth Sitrick and Company has snagged an impressive hire for their San Francisco office. Wendy Tanaka, once the Bay Area bureau chief for Forbes and managing editor of Red Herring magazine, has made the lucrative jump.

“We are very pleased to have Wendy join our team,” said chairman and CEO Mike Sitrick. “Her experience as a technology reporter and editor at one of the nation’s leading business publications and subsequently at Cisco, in social and digital media, should be of great benefit to existing and potential clients.”

After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in history, Tanaka worked as a business writer for the Philadelphia Inquirer from 1999 to 2006 before joining Red Herring as senior editor. She moved up to managing editor a year later and switched over to Forbes in the fall of 2007.

Her most recent, aforementioned stint as manager of social communications for Cisco lasted from March of 2011 through this past February.
