Giuliana Rancic to Undergo Double Mastectomy

E! news and red carpet host Giuliana Rancic announced Monday on Today that she is undergoing a double mastectomy as part of her breast cancer treatment.

The 36-year-old had a failed lumpectomy that didn’t get rid of the cancer. Instead of going through another lumpectomy, Rancic decided on a double mastectomy — which means there’s less than a one percent chance of the cancer returning.

In addition, Ranic would like to have a child with her husband, Bill, and radiation treatment would further delay parenthood.

NBC’s Dateline With Octuplet’s Mom, How Does She Do It?

.msnbcLinks {font-size:11px; font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #999; margin-top: 5px; background: transparent; text-align: center; width: 425px;} .msnbcLinks a {text-decoration:none !important; border-bottom: 1px dotted #999 !important; font-weight:normal !important; height: 13px;} .msnbcLinks a:link, .msnbcLinks a:visited {color: #5799db !important;} .msnbcLinks a:hover, .msnbcLinks a:active {color:#CC0000 !important;}

Visit msnbc.com for Breaking News, World News, and News about the Economy

The Ann Curry interview with our local hero of child birthin’ Whittier’s own Nadya Suleman told ‘her side of the story’ on Dateline.

The thing with Suleman is that she’s an addict. And all addicts are liars. And she is a liar. Her sentences contradict themselves.

“I’m not living off any taxpayer money,” she said in the interview. “If I am, if it’s food stamps, it’s a temporary resource. And I was so reluctant. I very much so look forward to the day when I am not getting any kind of help with food stamps, which I believe will end when I graduate in about a year or year and a half.”

She’s also, in a weird twist, an obvious plastic surgery enthusiast who talks about how she saved all her money to be implanted with embryos.

You know, cutting her nose to spite her case.

Anyway, it makes for some lively discussion. And if that wasn’t enough – she has a website up asking for donations and – of all things – comments.

Yikes.

Leave it to Southern California to produce a woman who’s spent every dime she’s ever made on plastic surgery and getting pregnant.

Take that New York – you think YOU have all the wacky eccentrics – PSHAW!

Octuplets Story Promises to Get Even Creepier

.msnbcLinks {font-size:11px; font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #999; margin-top: 5px; background: transparent; text-align: center; width: 425px;} .msnbcLinks a {text-decoration:none !important; border-bottom: 1px dotted #999 !important; font-weight:normal !important; height: 13px;} .msnbcLinks a:link, .msnbcLinks a:visited {color: #5799db !important;} .msnbcLinks a:hover, .msnbcLinks a:active {color:#CC0000 !important;}

In the video above, we love how the ‘media circus’ is seven people. This alleged circus is less than the amount of babies involved in this story.

Nadya Suleman, mother of a baker’s dozen plus one of artificially inseminated offspring says that she wanted to have a huge family.

More bits have trickled out from the Ann Curry interview. More will be broadcast on Today on Monday and on Dateline on Tuesday according to the LAT.

It’s just like the Katie Couric/Sarah Palin interviews. Just a little bits and pieces before we see the entire picture of the train wreck we have on our hands.

UPDATE: Bit of the Curry interview aired today on Today. Not Monday.

All of FBLA Readers Think the Octuplets Story is Pretty Weird

We asked yesterday, what was the weirdest part of the woman from Whittier giving birth to octuplets. Was it that a single mother underwent fertility treatment? Was it that a mother of six underwent fertility treatment? Was it that a 33 year old underwent fertility treatment? Is it the fact that she’s bankrupt and a mother of 14?

One reader commented that the weirdest thing was ‘that the media now calls her a bitch and a whore’. We’d like to see those links. Show your work, please.

Otherwise, this news story reads like an allegory. It seems like either propaganda for the science phobic or it should be being covered by the Brothers Grimm.

UPDATE: Ann Curry got the first interview with the mother according to the LAT.
