So our last-minute attempts to score press credentials for the AVN Awards landed us only nosebleed seats, probably better than we deserved, but far too far from the show. We sought solace in the lobby, where we found several porn stars also taking a break from the action.

Daisy Layne gamely let us take a picture of her eating a slice of pizza in her floor-length evening gown, while Dick Chibbles entertained us with tales of performing as Chewbacca in Star Wars XXX: A Porn Parody. ”I was wearing forty pounds of fur! I lost 5 pounds a day during filming,” he exclaimed.

The AVN Media Network announced this week that the 2011 AVN Awards show will be hosted by “The Queen of Mean,” insult comic Lisa Lampanelli. The AVN Awards, often referred to as the “Oscars of porn,” are the most prestigious in L.A.’s other multi-billion dollar film industry. Said Lampanelli of her hosting gig:

It’s so exciting to be named as host of the AVN Awards. Thank God Betty White had a scheduling conflict! No, seriously, this is a dream come true. I always wanted to host a show in a room full of pussies, boobs and giant dicks, but they wouldn’t let me host the MTV Video Music Awards! I’m also excited because I’ll finally have an excuse to wear those crotchless panties I’ve been saving for a special occasion.

The AVN awards will be held in Las Vegas on January 8, and your FBLA editors sure would like to be there.
