What Was I Thinking? Reading at Borders

What Was I Thinking-1.jpgThe second-floor of Borders Books in Westwood was shockingly packed on Sunday for the Los Angeles authors’ reading of What Was I Thinking?

Hosted by Wendy Hammers, the readers including Zoe Braverman, Tina Dupuy, Sarah Reinhardt, Deborah Kagan, Francesca Lia Block, Marydeith Burrel, Betty Goldstein, Claudia Handler, Katherine Ruppe, Nora Zelevansky and Mary Margaret Martinez.

We also saw book contributor, former FBLA editor Kate Coe in the audience. She didn’t read. Total let down.

We also met the hilarious, LA staple, cartoonist Mimi Pond who’s work was featured in the book. She was warm, friendly and very sweet to us. And then she asked, “What’s FBLA?”

Guess no one’s perfect.

What Was I Thinking? Book Party

61E+qSYvrGL._SS500_.jpgWhat Was I Thinking?: 58 Bad Boyfriend Stories includes a story written by former FBLA editor Kate Coe and one of your current editors, Tina Dupuy. And Carrie Fisher…which will earn us major points at this year’s ComicCon.

Anyway, the release party was on Saturday at Tom’s Shoes on Abbot Kinney in Venice.

Yeah, we had to go to the West Side where the people have all the charm of someone in the middle of a Master Cleanse. Which yoga pose strengthens sense of humor and wit? Om.

Anyway some attending whose chakras didn’t make them jerks were the editors of the book Liz Dubelman and Barbara Davilman were there. Also spotted were contributors Betty Goldstein, Wendy Hammers, Madeleine Beckman and Mary Margaret-Martinez. And mingling about was LA Times food columnist Charles Perry.

Oh and Fisher was a no-show. Total let down.
