The Ladies of ‘The View’ Have No Sympathy for Sheen’s Assault Victim

This morning, the ladies of “The View” discussed the charges of assault brought forward by Capri Anderson, the woman stuck in Charlie Sheen‘s hotel room last month when he went bonkers. Led by Whoopi “It wasn’t rape-rape” Goldberg, the women roundly dismissed Anderson’s claims. Since we’re not likely to be invited to appear on the show anytime soon, we’re posting our rebuttals to their arguments here.

A. She’s a porn actress!
Porn actresses, like the rest of us, are at risk of being assaulted. They are also capable of telling the truth about the attack.

B. She didn’t file a complaint with the police immediately.
Sex workers have good reason to be wary of the police. At best they work in a legal gray area, and reports of mistreatment at the hands of their clients go largely ignored. Even non-sex workers are often reticent to report assault by dates and intimate partners.

Republican Strategist: It Was Definitely Marijuana

Tonight’s edition of Real Time with Bill Maher should be very interesting. That’s because after host Bill Maher suggested during a Monday interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer that the joint lit up on air last week by guest Zach Galifianakis was in fact not marijuana but rather “cloves or something,” fellow October 29th guest Margaret Hoover has set the record straighter.

On last night’s edition of The O’Reilly Factor, she insisted that the pot smoked by the bearded funnyman was real.

Bill O’Reilly Thinks Arianna Huffington Will Hire Alan Grayson

Forget the Democrats. The party is too cowardly and indebted to corporate America to really get worked up about their losing control of the House. The real tragedy of yesterday’s election was the loss of true leftists like Russ Feingold and Alan Grayson. Politicians who held pure ideology above party concerns. There’s a huge difference between Republicans picking off a few Blue Dog sellouts and losing these guys. And don’t think the right-wing television pundocracy doesn’t know this.

Last night Fox’s Bill O’Reilly reveled in Grayson’s loss, and found a way to take a jab at Arianna Huffington too. “Pinhead Alan Grayson, that congressman in Orlando, you know that guy, he’s going to lose,” O’Reilly said last night. “I expect Arianna Huffington to hire this clown.”

Well, the joke’s on you O’Reilly. Everyone knows Arianna didn’t get where she is now by paying people. So there. Predicting Grayson going to MSNBC would have made more sense.

O’Reilly ‘Decides’ to Bully a Cartoonist

Don’t Muslim extremists want to take out cartoonists? Isn’t that their deal? Isn’t Bill O’Reilly against Muslim extremists? Then why is he going after a cartoonist for being critical of him? He’s out to intimidate Detroit Free Press cartoonist Mike Thompson for the above cartoon.

Rob Tornoe at Cagle Cartoons writes:

“Believe me when I tell you the far left is seething over all of this NPR stuff,” O’Reilly said. “The blow back has begun. Take a look at this political cartoon in the Detroit Free Press by Mike Thompson featuring me wearing ‘Obama equals Hitler’ stuff.”

“Please don’t sink to his level but can you let him know what you think,” O’Reilly said after giving out Thompson’s e-mail address on air. “Keep it respectful but don’t be like Mike.”

O’Reilly is a bully and a coward. It’s a cartoonist’s job to poke fun at O’Reilly and it’s O’Reilly’s job not to issue a Fox News fatwa every time he’s criticized. How shallow and petty can you be? Man up, O’Reilly.

So apparently Bernie Goldberg went on Bill O’Reilly‘s show and dismissed Jon Stewart not being edgy or not being Fair and Balanced or not being a social commentator and a comedian or something. Anyway, the counter to that is an amazingly bizarre and hilarious bit of teevee. Plus there is a great Jay Leno joke – we mean a joke about Jay Leno in there.

James Rainey to FNC: ‘Heck of a Job Brownie’ on the Haiti Coverage

Miles from a cataclysm, a post-doomsday story of massive human suffering, a disaster that launched a thousand ships to help ease the cruelty and indifference of nature, Fox News Channel decided to run bubblegum interviews with new contributor also-ran/quitter Sarah Palin. LAT media columnist James Rainey called them on it. He writes:

CNN’s determination to stick with the news stands in stark contrast to its competitors, particularly Fox News, that in prime time have increasingly been committed to building their brands with political commentary over straight reporting.

When critics accuse Fox of being a tool of the conservative political movement, the company’s executives counter that they deliver serious news during much of the day.

But its prime-time headliners expose the values of the entire operation, and this week they’ve given abysmally short shrift to the biggest crisis in the world.

Why dwell on one of our closest hemispheric neighbors in its hour of dire need, when — like both Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck — you can conduct prolonged, frothy promotional interviews with Fox’s newest contributor, Sarah Palin?

Why focus on all that misery, if, like Hannity on Wednesday, you can engage conservative virago Michelle Malkin in a soaring conversation about the Obama administration’s “culture of corruption.”

Bill O’Reilly played his no-Haiti card too, managing a gripping discussion Wednesday with Bo Derek about the threat to the West’s wild horses. Not to mention those whales being hunted by the Japanese in the Southern Ocean.

In fairness, FNC and the rest of the GOP bravely came out against empathy last summer.
