We liked watching Pitchmen. It was interesting. It was a show about the alleged nobility in shilling, peeking into the life of Billy Mays, that dude who screamed at you to buy stuff you don’t need. We thought it was a double meaning – pitching by selling and the high decimal pitch of the late Mays’ voice. Decent TV, we say.

Anyway, Mays is dead. He’s still pitching, in both meanings of the word, from the grave and now even more ghoulish the show he starred in is getting picked up for another season and ANOTHER Billy Mays (the son) is to be involved.

Billy Mays, household products’ household name, the Ron Popeil Oxi-Clean, died yesterday at the age of 50.

The autopsy results are to be released tomorrow. He was said to have suffered a hit to the head during a landing of a US Airways flight. According to the LA Times, the season finale of his show Pitchmen will air on Wednesday (according to our DVR it won’t) and according to our sources his around-the-clock commercials are still running. He’s selling products from the grave. That’s commitment.

This is very sad.

We should all spend the day really appreciating celebrities since they seem to be dying in packs. It’s important.
