Break out your dancing shoes because MTV is attempting to set the Guinness World Record for the longest dance party starting on Oct. 29 at the Roxy Theater.
It’s all part of the second annual O Music Awards, which celebrates the best in digital music. The actual award show is Oct. 31 from a yet to be announced L.A. location.
OMusicAwards.com will stream the entire dance party as they attempt to break the previous record of 55 hours set in Ireland in 2006. At the inaugural O Music Awards, rapper Chiddy of Chiddy Bang broke the Guinness World record for longest freestyle rap.
MTV will also raise money during the three-day event for GLSE (the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network), It Gets Better, The Gay Straight Alliance Network (GSA), Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation).
