Nikki Finke, blogging on Deadlinehollywooddaily.com, has gotten it wrong again.

She proclaimed like a wild banshee that Hollywood Reporter publisher Eric Mika was out.

And that head of advertising Rose Einstein was in.

As seems to be par for the course for Finke, her ducks weren’t all in a row.

An insider at Nielsen, which owns the Reporter, told FBLA: “I can tell you there are no current plans for leadership changes at THR.”

While Variety is laughing at itself, The Hollywood Reporter is saying put ‘em up.

The HP is diving into the digital domain with the launch of THReviews, an online portal that brings together in-depth reviews, news and plenty of info about film, music, TV and even the Internet.

Clicking on thr.com/reviews should bring you all the Hollywood content you could ever desire.

THReviews will feature all existing review content from Nielsen Business Media entertainment brands — including The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard, Nielsen EDI, Nielsen Online, Nielsen SoundScan and Nielsen VideoScan — as it relates to film, television, music concerts and albums, and home entertainment (DVD). It will also feature video produced by Nielsen brands, as well as user-generated comments and reviews.

“Entertainment business content is increasingly being consumed online; this is evidenced by the growth in traffic to our existing websites and digital products,” said Eric Mika, The Hollywood Reporter’s Publisher and Vice President, Entertainment for Nielsen Business Media. “The Hollywood Reporter is ideally positioned to capitalize upon this trend by creating and optimizing new content distribution platforms such as THReviews, which allow us to leverage our sister brands and serve our audiences in a unique, interactive way, while also providing innovative solutions for our clients to reach their customers.”

The Hollywood Reporter has been “rebranded.” Is that corporate speak for “in a death rattle?”

We kid! We kid!

The new look is, well, new.

The 78 year-old logo has been completely changed, and the whole publication has gone way more international. In fact, to hear Eric Mika, Publisher of The Hollywood Reporter, talk about various Arabic nations (we’re not kidding), click on the video here.

The week-old Hollywood Reporter: Premier Edition is already making its corporate parents proud. The publication, which launched Nov. 2 in New York, Miami, Atlanta and Washington D.C. is in 95 newsstands in New York.

At the same time, the trade has launched Hollywood Reporter Direct, a widget that delivers customized news, alerts and video from The Hollywood Reporter directly to subscribers’ desktops.

Clearly, the trade is making passes at the expanding global market — while trying to outdo its competition. According to the Associated Press, The Hollywood Reporter has a circulation of just over 25,000 to Daily Variety’s 32,000.
