First Geraldo Rivera gets a show, now Mario Lopez. Starting this coming Monday, A.C. Slater himself will host a weekday “music intensive” show on 104.3 MYfm. Lopez’s show will broadcast from The Grove at 7-11 p.m. nightly. Los Angeles will never be the same.

Lopez is already the host of MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew and the celebrity news show Extra.

Geraldo Rivera‘s impending arrival on the Los Angeles airwaves has been rumored for quite some time, but never officially confirmed. Well, now it’s official. Starting January 30th, Geraldo will host an original, non-syndicated LA show on KABC 790′s 10-noon slot. Geraldo used to live in LA, but is now New York-based and will broadcast his show from there.

Geraldo says his first guest will be his former Malibu neighbor Cheech Marin.

Starting January 3, he’s taking the 10-noon shift at KABC-790 AM.

Meanwhile, Larry Elder is reportedly moving to the 3-6 p.m. shift, while Peter Tilden is taking over the 9 p.m.-midnight show.

KABC isn’t making any official announcements until December 23rd.

Some of it was from his last book, “A Man Without a Country,” and perhaps the best semi-colon joke ever written. “Don’t use semicolons. They stand for absolutely nothing. They are transvestite hermaphrodites. They are just a way of showing off. To show that you have been to college.”
