California Congress People Missing From the 9/11 Vote Yesterday


We are the biggest state by population – therefore we have the most members of congress in the House. But, ahem, we don’t have half. And over half had already gone home yesterday missing the last vote of the year – health care for 9/11 responders. Who are some of the cool kids who cut class? Here’s the complete list. But four congresswomen from LA were already home: Maxine Waters, Jane Harman, Loretta Sanchez and Linda Sanchez. Tsk tsk tsk.

AFTRA Supports Performance Rights Act That Will Be Introduced This Week

aftra.gifAfter years of trying to get Congress to hear the case for terrestrial radio paying royalties to artists and labels for songs they broadcast, it looks like it will happen this week.

Much to the chagrin of National Association of Broadcasters who according to Billboard, ‘has long opposed paying such royalties under the claim that radio play serves as promotion that drives music sales’.
