<title>Pearlena Igbokwe New Drama Head at NBC</title>
<description><![CDATA[<p><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-66791" title="pearlena_igbokwe" src="http://www.mediabistro.com/fishbowlla/files/2012/07/pearlena_igbokwe.jpg" alt="" width="169" height="225" />Just one day <a href="http://www.mediabistro.com/fishbowlla/nbc-vp-of-drama-programming-is-out-after-six-years_b66633" target="_blank">after </a><strong><a href="http://www.mediabistro.com/Laura-Lancaster-profile.html">Laura Lancaster</a></strong> was removed from her VP position, NBC has hired <strong><a href="http://www.mediabistro.com/Pearlena-Igbokwe-profile.html">Pearlena Igbokwe</a></strong> as their new executive vice president of drama.</p>
<p>Igbokwe spent 20 years at Showtime and developed the pilots for <em>Dexter</em> and the new series <em>Masters of Sex</em>, starring Michael Sheen. In addition, she&#8217;s credited for <em>Nurse Jackie</em>, <em>The Big C</em> and <em>Barbershop</em>. She will be reunited with her old boss <strong><a href="http://www.mediabistro.com/Bob-Greenblatt-profile.html">Bob Greenblatt</a></strong>, who also jumped ship from Showtime to NBC.  In her new role Igbokwe will oversee the development of all new NBC dramas.</p>

<p>Lancaster will shift into a consulting role during the transition.</p>
