Screenwriter John August is now a member of a very privileged group: people listed on IMDb who have managed to get the Seattle behemoth to respond full-throttle to notifications of erroneous info.

In his blog post, August suggests that IMDb’s quick action might have had something to do with the fact that other even bigger names were also tangled into the mess of two short films he never touched:

I suspect some higher-up at IMDb paid attention, because the other writers who had been listed (including Joss Whedon) are also now unlinked. But the same director is still drafting on credits for other filmmakers. IMDb has corrected one mistake, but not their system.

Warner Premiere, the production arm of Warner Home Video, is branching out into live-action webisodes with some help from “Superman Returns” director Bryan Singer, the Hollywood Reporter proclaims.

Premiere is in discussions with the helmer’s Bad Hat Harry Prods. to develop the apocalyptic sci-fi thriller “H+,” with the intent to supplement Premiere’s roster of direct-to-DVD titles with a slate of original programs intended for digital platforms.

While Premiere’s previous efforts on DVD and digital are mostly based on existing intellectual property, “H+” represents an opportunity to introduce new material.

“We knew from the beginning of setting up Warner Premiere that digital would be a big emphasis for us,” Premiere president Diane Nelson said. “The best way to get learnings for the studio to act on in the future is to dabble in a lot of different things now.”

Joss Whedon keeps his wheezing and sniffling (we’re guessing) self off the picket line, but he does his union brothers and sisters proud by blogging his protest for all (or none) to hear:

Reporters are funny people. At least, some of the New York Times reporters are. Their story on the strike was the most dispiriting and inaccurate that I read. But it also contained one of my favorite phrases of the month.

“All the trappings of a union protest were there … But instead of hard hats and work boots, those at the barricades wore arty glasses and fancy scarves.”

Oh my God. Arty glasses and fancy scarves. That is so cute! My head is aflame with images of writers in ruffled collars, silk pantaloons and ribbons upon their buckled shoes. A towering powdered wig upon David Fury’s head, and Drew Goddard in his yellow stockings (cross-gartered, needless to say). Such popinjays, we! The entire writers’ guild as Leslie Howard in The Scarlet Pimpernel. Delicious.
