On Monday at noon PT, Tom Leykis kicked off his latest Internet experiment: the all-music stream Pure Pop Hits. Aimed squarely at the 12-to-24 demo, it features a DJ-less run of songs from the past three years and is set to play 50,000 of them… in a row.

“We are fully licensed with ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and Sound Exchange as a webcaster,” Leykis tells FishbowlLA. “The total cost of operating Pure Pop Hits is a fraction of the cost of the KIIS-FM receptionist… if they still have one… About $7,000.”

To put that crazy 50K number in proper perspective, it means there will zero commercial interruptions in 2012. Featured artists include Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson, Usher and Pitbull. Pure Pop Hits also promises to never censor any song lyrics.

The ladies aren’t the only ones that love LL Cool J.

For the first time in seven years, the Grammy Awards have decided to go with a host in the rapper-turned-actor and co-star of NCIS: Los Angeles on CBS.

LL Cool J has previously served as host of the Grammy nominations concert. Queen Latifah was the last host of the Grammys back in 2005.

The Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson are scheduled to perform on Feb. 12 from Staples Center.

“I will always have fond memories of my first Grammy Awards and to now be hosting the Grammy show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true,” LL Cool J said in a statement.

One is a 17-year-old high school student in Duisberg; the other, a 23-year-old unemployed male in Wesel. Both still live with their German parents. Nevertheless, this unlikely pair was able to victimize from afar Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and other pop superstars over a one-year period.

According to a report in the newspaper Bild, Deniz A. (a.k.a. DJ Stolen) and Christian M. simply emailed an MP3 file with an attached Trojan virus to reps for Gaga, Timberlake and other entertainers. Faster than you can say “Hasselhoff”, they were in possession of unreleased new tracks and, in one unidentified case, a compromising picture of a pop star.
