Kevin Bacon’s Five Degrees of LA Westside Separation
The good folks at KFI’s Tim Conway Jr. have an expression they like to use whenever a big compliment is bandied about on-air. The rallying cry is pronounced “Huuuuge shout out” and hash-tagged #hugeshoutout.
In the latest installment of Los Angeles magazine’s celebrity “LA Story” feature to go online, actor Kevin Bacon adds his #hso honors to the well-praised burgh of Los Feliz. His as-told-to is also notable for the fact that within Tinseltown, home-to-home migrations for actors and actor-couples usually progress in the opposite compass direction:
I don’t want to be snobbish about the westside, but as we started to move east over the years – from Point Dume to Santa Monica to Brentwood to Larchmont to Los Feliz – we felt more and more at home. We love Griffith Park now as much as we love Central Park. Our place in LA honestly feels to us like a vacation almost. We adore it.
