As owner of The Bohrman Agency, she brokered screenwriter deals for such major Hollywood films as the remake of The Fugitive. Her brother, David, is president of Current TV, while their father Stan was an award-winning SoCal TV newsman.

In an interview with scriptologist.com, she offered a wonderful explanation of how she came to own her boutique agency:

“I got fired from my first job as an agent after four years because they said, ‘You’re too honest. So, we can’t trust you anymore.’ [This] taught me about the lack of integrity in Hollywood. I’m very straightforward and honest. So I decided I was going to prove to these people that you can be honest and straightforward and still be very successful.”

Just about all of the Team Rotten reviewers admit that Breaking Dawn – Part 2 will greatly please the franchise’s hardcore fans. Still, critics in this group can’t help but also highlight some of the inherent problems:

“With so many scenes of well-dressed vampires sitting or standing, stiffly, while Taylor Lautner or Robert Pattinson or Kristen Stewart passes another micro-slab of dialogue like a kidney stone, Michael Sheen’s overacting’s greatly appreciated, thanks.”

Roger Ebert:
“The depiction of little Renesmee is rather curious… Her grandfather Charlie Swan (Billy Burke) observes, “My, how you’ve grown! You must be six inches taller!” And so she seems, although by my reckoning, it happened between Thanksgiving and Christmas. A human child like that, you take to see a specialist.”

Variety reported on what will be the third film by Morgan about Blair. Previously, he had written “The Deal” about Blair’s stratospheric rise in British politics, followed by “The Queen” about the thorny relationship with Queen Elizabeth II.

Without trying to be too much like Oliver Stone, Morgan takes on Brit politics without the sledgehammer approach that Stone is so often fond of when it comes to things political.

Morgan will rely on actor Michael Sheen, who is gaining amazing fame as David Frost in “Frost/Nixon, to take on the Blair role. He played Blair in both earlier incarnates about the PM.

Bush is still a question mark. But Morgan, as he’s directing as well, could always at least approach Josh Brolin, who did stellar work as Bush in Stone’s “W.”

Based on a play about the Frost/Nixon interviews in the late ’70s, the film actually finds a dramatic theme to a series of four one-on-one interviews for a playboy British talk show host and the disgraced former President.

The play was written by Peter Morgan, but director Howard is the one who should be lauded. Howard, whose films are usually dramatic but successful fluff, has tapped into a gold mine of political and historical proportions. Michael Sheen, who played Frost in the West End version, returns on film.

Said one screening-goer, “I didn’t think he had it in him.”

We think he meant Howard, not Langella.

Either way, the film was so good, it made you want to go on YouTube and find the originals, which are all listed. But a company called Liberation Entertainment has taken them off the free market. Alas, as always, it comes down to the dollar.

Desperate Housewives Win Night for ABC
The women of Wisteria Lane saw their season premiere last night on ABC and the Desperate Housewives showing was good enough for a first place finish in the primetime race, THR reports, but the ratings were still off 23% from last year’s season opener. However, THR also writes that it was the show’s best ratings since Nov. 26, 2006.

Morgan Readies Queen Sequel
Oscar-nominated scribe Peter Morgan is penning a sequel to the Helen Mirren-starrer The Queen, reports Variety. The pic – Morgan’s third in a ‘Blair trilogy’ – will center on former U.K. prime minister Tony Blair’s relationships with presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. Michael Sheen, who played Blair in The Queen, is expected to reprise his role. But the bigger question is – who will play Clinton and Bush?!
