No, the Los Angeles Kings Aren’t Moving to Seattle

New NHL season, same confusion about the local hockey team in Los Angeles.

Fresh off a playoff run that featured numerous flubs by the media, some people are still confusing the Los Angeles Kings (those guys who hit pucks) with the Sacramento Kings (those guys who are hitting the road for Seattle).

The screengrab above is from the New England Sports Network (NESN).

Have no fear, the defending Stanley Cup champs aren’t moving to Seattle. Some things will never change, I guess.

TWC Close to Hiring NESN Reporter Heidi Watney?

Despite being a year away from launch, Time Warner Cable is reportedly close to hiring a sideline reporter for one of their two new regional sports networks.

According to The Boston Globe, NESN in-game reporter Heidi Watney is leaving her gig as in-game reporter on the network’s Red Sox telecasts for a new job reporting on the Los Angeles Lakers for Time Warner Cable starting in the 2012-13 NBA season.

The California native has spent the last four seasons at the New England cable sports giant. When contacted by The Globe via text while vacationing in Australia, Watney said: “Nothing is final and not dealing with it until I return at [the] end of the month.”
