The Danish are Coming!

Bagger.jpgThe Danish fugitive, alleged scam artist Stein Bagger turned himself in over the weekend at the Skid Row police station in downtown LA. Since he was dressed like a mortgage broker circa 2007 (Armani jacket and Rolex watch) the police didn’t believe him at first.

From the LAT story:

“We’ve had several people come in and tell us they were the king of Denmark,” explained Officer Jack Richter.

For the record, he probably would have gotten the same reaction in West Hollywood.

Anyway, apparently this is a HUGE story in Denmark. It’s their OJ Simpson Trial. So our town is now infected with Danish media. So be on the look out for actual naturally blond people in LA.

Insert pastry jokes here.

How Christine Prody Went From Simpson Stalker to OJ’s Squeeze: ERS News

OJ-Cigar.jpg

ERS News seems pretty convinced that OJ Simpson is dating his stalker, aka girl friend, Christine Prody. Seems the intrepid investigative journo had met her, back in the day, at the Rockingham gate, where Tom Gleason, Simpson’s then-bodyguard, kept throwing her out.

If only Longabardi had thought to get her life rights then. Now, she’s been spotted sitting in the Vegas court room, supporting Simpson.

If We Did It … It Would Have Been Done A Month Ago

jregan011507.jpgGalleyCat has this delightful bit of schadenfreude: HarperCollins is deleting the ReganBooks name and logo and will close the LA office on March 1.

OJ Simpson didn’t kill Judith Regan’s imprint — she did plenty to seal that coffin herself. But his imaginary confession “tell-all” didn’t help.

An interim logo, HC, will appear on Regan books through this summer, after which the list will be reassigned to existing Harper imprints.

From GalleyCat:

“Publishers Marketplace adds that many LA staffers, including Cal Morgan, executive managing editor/senior editor Cassie Jones; marketing director Gregg Sullivan; and senior art director Richard Ljoenes will return to New York and join the Harper staff there. Suzanne Wickham will stay on in LA as publicity director.”
