There will be many fond personal remembrances of Nora Ephron, the writer, director, author and journalist who passed away today at age 71.
One of the first notable such pieces comes from Sara Wilson, senior editor of HuffPost Weddings and HuffPost Divorce. She first met Ephron a few years ago, when the latter dreamed up the idea of the HuffPost Divorce section and interviewed Wilson for the job of running it:
She greeted me warmly at the door, dressed entirely in black; her home was entirely white – a true New Yorker in LA. Offering me a cup of tea, she ushered me into her garden, which offered jaw-dropping views of the LA skyline, and launched right into her vision for the Divorce page, telling me why she thought it made so much sense: “Marriages come and go,” she said, “but divorce is forever.”
