One journo’s good fortune can sometimes be another one (or two’s) misfortune. Or so it appears at Yahoo! Movies.

Just a day after we reported about the addition of Thelma Adams to the site’s awards season coverage ranks, the tandem of Will Leitch and Tim Grierson were today over lunchtime tweeting about a less savory, sudden development:

Yahoo! is adding four seasoned writers to its entertainment section. Will Leitch will write about film, Erin Carlson will cover celebrity news, Caryn Ganz will focus on music, and Lindsay Robertson will be all over boob tube reporting. From Variety.com:

“I wanted people who had original voice content you couldn’t get anywhere else,” said [Managing Editor Courtney Reimer], whose previous posts include MTV, VH1 and New York Magazine. “I was careful to make sure they would hit this voice.”

The four writers will be responsible for generating original content, full time, in the form of editorial pieces, commentary and even video. Reimer said they were hired partly for their popular and respected bylines in the industry.

A nice break from the online trend of hiring young, inexperienced writers that will work for slave wages. Boo-ya, Yahoo!
