L.A. Councilman Eric Garcetti has a pretty funny Twitter impostor. It might not be up to Ruth Bourdain standards, but it’s not “Santorum” either. Garcetti’s staff seems to be taking the whole thing in stride. “The tweets are harmless,” Garcetti spokesman Yusef Robb told the LA Times. “But we would hope people follow the authentic Eric Garcetti, so they’re getting accurate and helpful information.”

Register today.Despite some last minute scrambling by festival organizers to pay $141,000 in city fees, including asking for donations from a community already being charged $25 per ticket, this weekend’s Sunset Junction Street Fair is a no-go. Today the L.A. Board of Public Works voted to deny the fair’s needed permits.
Concert promoters LiveNation reportedly donated $100,000 to the cause, but organizers failed to bring the required funds to today’s board hearing.

[Eric] Garcetti spokesman Yusef Robb said the councilman supported the board’s decision and accused festival organizers of trying to “flimflam $400,000 from the taxpayers.”
“The fact that they came up with a large sum — not the full amount, but a large sum nonetheless — in just 36 hours, shreds their credibility even more. They should have spent the last 12 months coming up with the full amount.”
BuzzBands reports that several promoters are working to arrange fill-in dates for bands scheduled to play the festival, and promises more information when available.
