The Tribeca Film Institute is expanding their Tribeca Teaches program to Lennox Middle School in Los Angeles — the first pilot run outside of New York City.

TFI and non-profit Southern California Crossroads will focus on bilingual storytelling through video games. Experienced filmmakers will partner with teachers, community activists and parents in assisting students during the 18-week program.

“Over the past six years we have built a strong foundation for young storytellers in New York City, helping students to see themselves as storytellers, and providing teachers with the tools they need to use film and media in the classroom,” Beth Janson, executive director of the Tribeca Film Institute, said in a statement. “We are proud to bring our expertise across the country and empower a new community of students to write their own narratives.”
