Ugly Betty Depicts Media Bailout

Last night‘s episode of Ugly Betty had a storyline revolving around a federal bailout for media outlets. The magazine on the show, Mode went broke.

Did the writers assume at some point that was going to happen? Or is this just as fictional as the dimly lit labs on CSI?

Have pundits on cable news denouncing mainstream media (strangely while being ON mainstream media) for being ‘soft on Obama’ basically ensure that newspapers getting a bailout is a political impossibility?

Have blowhards screwed it up royally for actual journalists?


Will the media ever get a government bailout?
