The transgendered community is likely to get a big boost of awareness soon thanks to Larry Wachowski. One-half of the Wachowski brothers directing team – the inventive minds behind The Matrix trilogy – has long been rumored to be undergoing a sex change. Rated M blog confirmed that the process is still underway by posting a new pic of the helmer with some interesting tranny tidbits like Larry is now being referred to as Lana. The gender reassignment is having an effect on their credits: According to the post they will now be referred to as ‘The Wachowskis‘ rather than ‘The Wachowski Brothers.’ Further, the site says that the Matrix masterminds are likely to sit down for a sex change chat with a major press outlet (possibly Dateline NBC) but not until after their next project, Speed Racer, runs into theaters. The Warner Bros. Pictures release is scheduled to bow in May 2008.
