Whitman: ‘On November 3rd, No One’s Going to Care About Nicky Diaz’

Billionaire candidate for governor of California, Meg Whitman had a maid for nine years the candidate described as “family.” In the final stretch of the campaign where Whitman wanted to see employers fined for hiring illegal immigrants, her former housekeeper Nicky Diaz, hired media circus icon and lawyer Gloria Allred. First Whitman claimed she didn’t know Diaz was illegal and accused her of stealing her mail – a federal offense. Then a letter bringing her immigration status to the attention of her employer surfaced with Whitman’s husband’s handwriting on it. So Whitman lied and vilified her former housekeeper. She now treats Diaz like a leper in the press. Someone who she once cared about but due to her own rottenness is no longer fit to be around decent people. It’s pretty stunning to see a plutocrat in action. In the above interview with Greta Van Susteren, Whitman says, “And, you know what? On November 3rd, no one’s going to care about Nicky Diaz. But the law is the law and we live in the rule of law. It’s important.”

No one is going to care about Nicky Diaz? And by “no one” she doesn’t mean immigrants illegal or otherwise, people who’ve ever worked for a living or people who want to see the system fixed. She means no one important.
