Al Gore On 2008 White House Run: ‘I’m Not Planning On It’

Al Gore says he’s not planning on running for president.

Gore greeted FishbowlNY at last night’s Good magazine launch party in New York, dismissing a recent Associated Press report that he wasn’t ruling out a run for the White House in 2008.

“I’m not planning on it,” Gore said.

The ex-Vice President-cum-activist told FishbowlNY that he’s not prepping a sequel to An Inconvenient Truth, his well-received documentary about global warming. “It took 30 years to make,” Gore said. “Maybe in another 30 years we’ll make [the sequel].”

Note: Before FishbowlNY was able to ask Gore additional questions — “Why did Current TV partner with Yahoo and not YouTube?” “If you do run again, will Clinton be your running mate — and which Clinton?” and “Will you ever grow a beard again?” — our impromptu interview was hijacked by a biodiesel enthusiast.
