For those who do not watch America’s Got Talent, this week’s Pensacola News Journal interview by Troy Moon with 11-year-old Florida country singer Chloe Channell was a great primer ahead of her appearance at Radio City Music Hall last night. After auditioning in New Orleans and making it through the second round in Las Vegas, Channell was set to wow the judges once again.
In the video interview with Moon, Channell – alongside her mom – is full of precocious confidence. She proudly points to a mounted “eight pointer” buck shot by her grandmother and raves about the taste of deer jerky. And let’s face it; the name Chloe Channell is one that sounds like it was tailor-made for the country and western world.
Channell also has a solid sense of humor. Here for example is what she told Moon about that recent trip to Sin City:
“Las Vegas was a little scary because sometimes it didn’t seem safe,” Chloe said. “And I know my mom wouldn’t protect me. She’d say, ‘Take Chloe instead.’”

Editor’s note: An earlier version of this post incorrectly stated that Channell’s performance at Radio City Music Hall was tonight. FishbowlNY apologizes for the error.
