Are You There God? Newspaper Publishes Obama’s Western Wall Letter

The AP is reporting that a Israeli paper has published the written prayer that Barack Obama left in the Western Wall this week, even though it is apparently forbidden to read the notes left there (and the person who does it risks “God’s everlasting indignation”). According to the paper the note said:

Lord — Protect my family and me…Forgive me my sins, and help me guard against pride and despair. Give me the wisdom to do what is right and just. And make me an instrument of your will.
Yep, the man even prays eloquently. We suppose it’s par for the course considering the kind of clamor Obama has been creating internationally this week, but still, it’s the Western Wall! Show some respect!
