Art Lenehan Leaves The Record

lenehan.jpgArt Lenehan, managing editor of The Record, left the New Jersey paper on Thursday. Editor Frank Scandale, citing company policy, declined to detail Lenehan’s departure. “Art’s a good man and we wish good things in the future for him,” he said.

Lenehan offered this comment:

I don’t have a lot of criticism to offer because, far as I’m concerned, the owner, Mac Borg, is a shining star of integrity. That whole family has been a pillar of integrity in American journalism for 75 years. I’m proud to have worked for them and I’m proud to have been associated with that staff. I love them all.

Lenehan began his journalism career in 1972 as a reporter. He had been managing editor at The Record since 2001. He was assistant managing editor/electronic news at The Star Ledger from 1995 to 2000.
