Bankrupt Tribune Co. Still Promoting

zell01.26.09.jpgSam Zell‘s Tribune Co. might not have any money, but that won’t stop it from bumping up people on its executive level, especially if he or she might be able to right the ship and make some money.

Earlier today, Don Meek was appointed president/national media sales for interactive and publishing. Meek comes from the Los Angeles Times where he had been president of integrated media for the past six months. The LAT struggled in recent months, but Ed Wilson, Tribune’s chief revenue officer and president of Tribune Broadcasting, praised his efforts.

“[Meeks has] done a phenomenal job delivering results for advertisers across our southern California media group, including the Times and KTLA, and has figured out how capitalize on the broad reach of Tribune’s multimedia resources,” Wilson said in a dull press release that made us long for the old days.
