Glendale Reporter Suddenly Finds Herself Working the Bauhaus Beat

It’s one of those very strange stories: the weekend arrest in LA of Peter Murphy, lead singer of British rock band Bauhaus, following an alleged March 16 hit-and-run in Glendale.

Glendale News-Press public safety and courts reporter Veronica Rocha bas been busy catching up to the details. There’s the bag of methamphetamine found in the cop car, which Murphy denies was his; there’s the idea that the lead singer of Bauhaus is taking anti-depression medication. And there’s also this, from today’s brief court hearing:

Fans who had hoped to catch a glimpse of the Goth rocker were disappointed when he didn’t make an appearance in [Los Angeles County Superior] court.

Among them was 42-year-old Charity Rosales of Rowland Heights, a fan of Murphy’s since the 1980s who described his music as “so different than the mainstream.”

Perhaps, but when he was involved in the late Saturday morning incident, it was at the wheel of a Subaru Forrester. All extremely bad timing for Murphy, who last week announced the dates for his imminent “Mr. Moonlight” tour.
