Next Up For Johnny Depp: Whiskey Robber?
We hear one of the possible upcoming projects for Johnny Depp is the role of Attila Ambrus in an adaptation of Julian Rubinstein's Ballad of the Whiskey Robber. An informed source tells FishbowlNY: Warner Bros. is currently working on adapting it, and Johnny Depp is supposed to play Attila Ambrus. Ambrus, by the way, has a MySpace page, which he "writes" from a maximum security prison in Satoraljaujhely, Hungary, where he is currently serving 17 years for robbery. Meanwhile, Rubinstein tells FishbowlNY that after finishing the audio version of Whiskey Robber featuring Eric Bogosian, Tommy Ramone, Demetri Martin and Jonathan Ames, among others he's at work on a new book, and also a documentary about "the last three years of my father's life."
