The Boston Globe To Publish Magazine About ‘The Americas Wing’

This Sunday, The Boston Globe will publish a magazine — The MFA Takes Wing — completely devoted to the opening of the Museum of Fine Arts’ new Art of the Americas Wing. The 56-page glossy will be distributed in the Sunday edition of the paper as well as in Boston and Manhattan-area issues of The New York Times, which is owned by the same parent company.

The magazine will provide a floor-by-floor guide to the wing’s 53 galleries, the period rooms, and courtyard and a behind-the-scenes look at the building of the wing, which has been a decade in the making, including its architecture and the pieces it will hold.

In addition, The Globe‘s art critic, Sebastian Smee, will take a look at how well the new wing accomplishes what it sets out to do and offers his recommendation on choice art works to check out, including those most interesting to children.
