Breaking: Metro US Editor Axed

metro_092506.jpgMark Moore, editor-in-chief of Metro US, has been removed from his post, FishbowlNY has learned. Moore, who had just relocated with his wife, Daily News reporter Tina Moore, to New York this week, is out in a “change of direction,” according to an inside source.

Moore had been at the helm since May of 2005. His predecessor, Brian Moss, was fired after only six months on the job. Metro’s original editor, Stefano Hatfield, is now the editor of Rupert Murdoch‘s new freebie London newspaper.

A press release is expected shortly.
