Breaking: Sacha Baron Cohen Steps Out Of Borat Character For NPR
A pop culture milestone of sorts is set to air today at 3:00PM on NPR: An interview with Sacha Baron Cohen — as Sascha Baron Cohen.
That’s right — no Borat.
Baron Cohen steps out of the character he brilliantly, maddeningly inhabited for what seemed like the longest press junket in history to talk to reporter Luke Burbank. Some soundbites:
“There is that moment where you feel almost like a hit man … Where you look in the mirror and it’s as if you’ve pulled the gun out and you’re about to assassinate someone. And you know everything’s about to change.” “At some point, I’ve got to stop doing interviews as Borat, I’ve got to take off the mustache and reveal the real me, the real mustache.” “I’m tremendously hirsute. In fact, if I wasn’t this hairy, I’d probably be unemployed.”
