Breaking: WNYC Lays Off Four

wnyc.pngWe just learned that New York Public radio station WNYC has laid off four staffers and eliminated 11 unfilled positions. The station’s newsroom reported the following:

“Like other non-profits and cultural institutions, WNYC has been impacted by the economic downturn and has seen revenues decline, primarily in underwriting. Unfortunately, despite significant cuts to our operating expenses, we still must eliminate some positions in order to meet our financial targets. As of today, we are laying off 4 people and eliminating 11 unfilled positions from across the organization.”

Senior staff are also taking a 5 percent cut in total compensation.

If you know who was among those let go or if you have any other information please leave us a note in the comments or send us an email.
