CBS Radio Restructures

Dan Mason, the CEO of the second-largest U.S. radio broadcaster, is reorganizing the company’s regional reporting structure, eliminating regional manager positions. Mason will now directly oversee CBS Radio stations in the 10 biggest markets.
While CBS Radio’s profits and advertising sales have been reeling since Howard Stern left terrestrial radio for the cosmic vistas of satellite radio, Mason has thus far done an impressive job. Under Mason’s watch, WCBS — the newly-rechristened oldies station — knocked WLTW (Lite FM) off the top radio ratings perch it has occupied since 1999.
