Celebuzz Has More Chevy Chase Audio*

Star magazine and Radar Online reporter Dylan Howard* has dropped another Chevy Chase bombshell this morning. It’s a second audio recording of Community’s famous senior citizen, complaining via telephone to show creator Dan Harmon about the direction of several episodes.

From a media perspective, what’s most unusual about this one is that it can be found on a website not named TMZ. Celebuzz, part of the kinder, gentler BUZZMEDIA empire, normally does not get into this sort of territory:

Creative differences are commonly articulated within Hollywood. But speculation about how this private March 2011 conversation made its way to the Internet (and who recorded it) will inevitably become part of the story.

Howard suggests that this second Chase recording could be “a potentially fatal blow to the beleaguered series that is already reeling from an all-time series ratings low last week, totaling just 3.1 million viewers nationwide.”

*Update – 04/10/12: Shortly after publication of this item, we heard from Howard via email. He revealed that after two and a half years with Radar Online and Star magazine, he has just recently moved over to celebuzz.com as the site’s new editor-in-chief. Congrats to him; pretty impressive way to ring in the new gig. Read our subsequent report about Howard’s move here.
