Boldly Going, Part II: Who will replace Campbell Robertson?
So, in the spirit of offering up job openings that don't appear on our own highly useful MB listings, we asked the NYT to confirm whether they were taking outside applications. We heard back from the delightfully responsive Toby Usnik, who responded to my email in lieu of NYT spokeswoman Catherine Mathis (who is taking a no-doubt much-needed vacation). Usnik happily clarified the situation for us, not at all mad that we called him Shirley: "We are interviewing outside candidates for the Boldface Names column. As in the past, we imagine that the writer will bring his/her unique voice to the column."Did you hear that, uniquely-voiced people? The NYT wants you! And will totally let you call your editor "Shirley." In other news, Campbell, I want you to know that I found that picture of Wilmer 'specially for you, and deliberately cut out half of that swag-lifting Lindsay Lohan's face. Wilmer belongs to us all, and to the ages. p.s. We loooove the Transom's suggested new name for the column: "Fishface Names!" Ahem. We know a shout-out when we see one. Yay Boldface! Ya Transom! Yay everyone! God Bless us, every one! Email This Post |
