In an attempt to capitalize on the head-butt of hype it received as host of the 2006 World Cup, Germany is pimping leggy Dusseldorf-born supermodel Claudia Schiffer for its “Invest In Germany” ad campaign. Schiffer — she of the so-called “David Copperfield Syndrome” (blazingly hot women who magically date average-looking dudes) — currently appears flag-clad in oversized posters throughout Grand Central Terminal.

The press release, by the way, includes this absurd statistic found exclusively in German press releases: “During the soccer World Cup, more than 3.5 billion media-contacts were made worldwide.”
