Debate Over Corey Feldman Pedophilia Accusations Continues

It was the Nightline interview that reverberated across Hollywood. Last week, Corey Feldman made some wide-ranging accusations relating to his days as child star, suggesting that pedophilia is rampant in Hollywood and that an unnamed perpetrator was responsible for the death of his friend Corey Haim.

Today, the director of the Catholic League cries foul, telling LifeSiteNews.com that “the same mainstream media which hyperventilates over reports of a priest accused of a ‘boundary issue,’ such as kissing a girl on her head, seem to accept with aplomb Corey Feldman’s recent remarks about the prevalence of pedophilia in Hollywood.” But that’s not quite true.

The claims made August 10 by Feldman were covered by major outlets including Entertainment Weekly, CNN, and Drudge favorite The Daily Mail. Meanwhile, more than 1,500 readers left comments in response to a report on the Huffington Post. Feldman has previously alleged that he was abused by his personal assistant.

Some media observers have complained about Feldman’s refusal to “name names.” But the best approach here would seem to be for another enterprising media outlet to use the Nightline interview as a cue for their own, separate investigation.
