Mail Online Hits Staggering New Web Traffic Mark

Are you ready for this stat? You might actually want to move away from all sharp office objects before reading any further. Or, if mobile, make sure you are currently nowhere near a busy intersection.

According to the latest figures, UK’s Daily Mail cycled 128,599,300 unique visitors through its website in May. Or, if you prefer, a little over twice the entire population of the Kingdom where the publication is headquartered:

Its average global total for daily “browsers” was 8.2 million, up 46.8 per cent year on year.

The Guardian is second on the May 2013 UK newspapers website list with 82,927,697 uniques, the Telegraph third at 57,086,520. Though farther down the list with 26,651,531 uniques, The Independent is actually the British newspaper with largest year-to-year growth (69%).
