As English pudding-proof, consider the trail left in the past 24 hours by LA based showbiz correspondent Sarah Fitzmaurice (pictured). In between, there are five more items covering everything from the fifth season of Jersey Shore to the smooching capabilities of actor Ryan Reynolds. There’s also the requisite Jennifer Lopez foreign sighting, this time in Santiago, Chile, with an emphasis on tiny shorts and “perfect pins.”

Each article is photo-heavy, with typically a half-dozen large pictures to further drive the traffic. Another trick Daily Mail copy editors rely on is extended, wordy headlines.
