David Brooks to Teach ‘Humility’

Longtime New York Times op-ed contributor David Brooks has a new gig. According to New York’s Daily Intelligencer, Brooks is going to teach “Humility” at Yale this spring. It’s not Brooks’ first time in front of a classroom. He told the DI that he taught at Yale “six or seven years ago, and at Duke since [then].”

The conservative writer is also well aware that teaching a class in humility sounds a bit ridiculous, but said the class will look at strategies used by people such as Martin Luther King Jr. and Samuel Johnson “as a guide for life and politics and everything else.”

We imagine Brooks will begin his class by explaining,”Well, I don’t know anything, really. I mean, it’s just an honor to be here. Hopefully you listen to my ideas that probably aren’t even that good.”
