Denton, Byrne Celebrate Long Tail In New York

It seemed that anyyone even-remotely associated with New York’s new media resurgence was in Tribeca last night at the Flavorpill-hosted New York debut of Wired editor Chris Anderson‘s Long Tail. Anderson, who you could call the Al Gore of new media, ripped through a PowerPoint presentation that was simulcast throughout Tribeca Cinemas. Talking Head David Byrne — who never met a PowerPoint he didn’t like — was there. Gawker Media’s Nick Denton — whose recent moves seem to indicate he’s trying not to slide anywhere near the long end of the tail — was there too.

And if the pre-hype is any indication, Anderson’s book — which praises the “Who needs blockbusters?” power of niche — is going to be one.

Also in attendance:

Byrne was rumored to perform in some capacity, but we left during the Brazilian Girls set.
