Did Prefab Cause ‘Major Rift’ In Dwell‘s House?

dwell_see_change.jpgIf you can’t take the prefab, get yo’ ass out the mod kitchen.

In a sentence, that may sum up the chatter surrounding abrupt exit of editor Allison Arieff, who resigned late yesterday and was at odds with what she called “a fundamental change in the magazine’s mission and philosophy.” Says an insider:

  • “The production of their own prefab house has caused a serious rift with their major advertisers and partners for events who are trying to promote their own prefab houses. People think they are too focused on building their own prefab industry, which also includes housewares and accessories.”
  • Serious backlash from admirers because they’re featuring expensive out of reach homes to attract equally deep-pocketed advertisers.”
