Dow Jones death watch, Part 628

Never mind the nameplates, things really seem to be going downhill at Dow Jones. Consider:

- Circulation is flat
- Earnings are down
- Newsroom morale? Also down
- Shareholder value? One guess.

What hasn’t changed: the Bancroft family control of the company, even if they divest their shares, thanks to a just-passed resolution entrenching their control. Also what hasn’t changed: management. Dow CEO Peter Kann, who has come under fire for turning Dow Jones into a turkey, remains atop the teetering totem pole (and endorsed the shareholder proposal wholeheartedly, btw)(oh yeah, measures designed to hold the CEO accountable for the tanking of earnings, morale, and shareholder value: down).
