Draft Breathes Hope Into Mag Industry

draftcover.jpgIn this era of dying print pubs, success stories are always appreciated, especially on a rainy Monday when your office just moved from SoHo to Midtown and you’re not happy about it. But we digress.

Let’s praise the hops gods for Draft* — and not just because the magazine makes us think of the beer we so desperately need. The Phoenix-based pub, launched in September 2006, announced it topped 200,000 subscribers today. That may not seem like a lot, but considering the limited audience (how many people really care about craft beer?) it’s a wobbly step in the right direction.

If you need us, we’ll be celebrating at the faux Irish pub down the street. It’s up to you to find which one.

[*Full disclosure: We've written for Draft on occasion, but mostly because they pay us to wander around Brooklyn and talk to bartenders. Like you would say no.]
