NBCLA Mixes Up Its Los Angeles Kings

This time, the media-correction tweet came not from @LAKings but rather mascot @BaileyLAKings.

As Larry Brown notes in the aftermath of the above gotcha elements, it shouldn’t really be that hard for a TV newsroom employee with a team media guide to get their Dustin Penner‘s (top) and Jarret Stoll‘s (bottom) straight. But alas, NBC Southern California merits a double-penalty here for tripping:

Unfortunately, this is a recurring theme for the NHL Kings. It’s a Lakers town, and we see examples of that in the media on a regular basis. Good thing we have people like Bailey to at least make an effort to police it.

That’s just rubbing salt in the ice-wounds: a reigning Stanley Cup champion getting dissed because of a greater group-media-think love for a Staples Center-mate that may not even make the NBA playoffs this year. Just once, can’t a local outlet mislabel #15 Metta World War or something?!
