Editor Who Criticized The Source For ‘Deterioration Of Journalism’ Joins Them

Cedric “Big Ced” Thornton, an editor of The Industry Cosign Webzine who had strongly criticized The Source for its lapses in jounalism ethics and general decline of the magazine, has been hired as its online editor.

Thorton writes:

For most who know me or has read some of my ‘rants’ in the past, I was, perhaps, one of the biggest anti-Source people around because of the deterioration of the journalism aspect as well as personal agendas being fulfilled instead of responsible and ethical reporting in the writing of the Hip-Hop field. After all, the tagline for the magazine was and still is, ‘The Bible of Hip-Hop’. This disdain for giving the Hip-Hop audience and industry a respectful view of how we, as a culture, lived, was very unprofessional, silly and disrespectful for the audience, admirers and the people involved in the Hip-Hop game and I was very vocal about the way The Source was being used at the time. Losing its very integrity it had virtually built over the years and it the same time, losing any credibility and respect garnered over the same period of time.

Thorton plans to continue publishing The Industry Cosign while overseeing TheSource.com.
